Abstract
I attempted to assess the conditions of health management and disease control of the clients who live in Kongju area. The survey was conducted by checking blood pressure and urine with steotoscope and uristix in the clients (140 persons).
The survey was performed on the bases of 140 clients among 40 families residing in Okryong-Dong, Kongju-Si. Chungcheongnam-Do.
In order to assess the basic data for the primary health management in the clients requiring home nursing, I chose 140 clients (40 families) and surveyed their present state of health management and disease management.
It took about 50 days ranging from April 20th, 1993 to June 10th, 1993 to collect the data.
Results are as following:
1. Families having their own house comprised 30 % (12 families). It¢¥s most frequent that 18 families (49.5 %) earned the average income from 500,000 won to 700,000 won per month.
2. As for making use of health management facilities, most of them visited the pharmacy (82.5 A¢¥) and some of them relied on home care (17.5 %).
3. Being asked on the concerning problems, they wanted to discuss about the high blood-pressure (25.0 %) and various adult diseases (20.0 %).
4. The inhabitants wanted to get help from the government by receiving continuous health management (77.3 %) and free immunization of hepatitis (13.6 %).
S. All children under the age of 6 years was immunized (100 %). The percentage of the rate in immunization were different according to their ages.
6. As a result, 75 persons among those over 30 years checked their blood pressure, showed the prevalence rate (1.33 %) of high blood-pressure.
7. High blood-pressure, arthritis and disc comprised 17.6 % for each among the clients. It is urgent for us to survey further on the various diseases occurring among the rural inhabitants in order to get the reliable results of prevalence rate.
